Product Description
The Switch Timer was one of the very first prototypes developed by SlightGen in its early days. At the time of its design, there were no equivalent products available in the Indian market that could convert a normal socket into a time-controlled smart socket. This made it an MVP for the company, laying the foundation for later IoT and automation projects.
The device is provided with a 3-pin socket and a digital LED display. Users can plug in any appliance and set a specific duration for which they want the device to run. Once the set time has elapsed, the supply automatically turns OFF.
The timer could be set for as little as one minute to as long as 9.99 hours, making it highly versatile for household, office, and laboratory use. With its simple button interface (Set/Reset, +, – buttons) and numeric display, it was user-friendly even for non-technical consumers.
Why the Need for Switch Timer?
At the time, people commonly forgot to turn off devices such as irons, heaters, water pumps, lights, or chargers, leading to:
- Wastage of electricity
- Increased power bills
- Risk of overheating or electrical accidents
The Switch Timer solved this problem by adding a simple but powerful feature — automated ON/OFF control based on user-defined time.
It provided:
